Our FunkyMates Update!
Howdy there Boys & Girls Mums & Dads, we hope you are all well.
As I sit & type up an update on my little man's 1st Birthday I realise that time has flown way too fast!
Thank you to all of your feedback & thoughts about our FunkyMates Premium Nappies. We are still trying to decide what material to use; so far the make up of the FunkyMates Premium Nappy is:
- Flannel Cover - full piece
- PUL inside - full piece
- Microfirbre Towelling - full piece
- Micro fleece - full piece
- Pad - 4 layers of Hemp Fleece covering the wet zone from top to bottom
We are also trying to decide on whether the pad should be inside or half inside & the other half outside the Nappy which will allow quicker drying time. For now the above is about to start the trialling process & the results will certainly speak for themselves. We are also thinking about having a detachable Pad as well as Bamboo Fleece. Snaps hmm, after having had Toby in them it seems difficult to get a Nappy on him while he is wriggling around - but we will see! As you can see heaps to think about & play with! Any thoughts send us an email!
The newsletter is about to be finished - yes we did say July! But we can still have July in September can't we? It will be Christmas before we know it!
The new FunkyMates Bibs are now in stock & walking out the door. The feedback is that they are fantastic & the loop & hook fastening is quite strong which helps to keep them on our little ones necks!!! We are slowly adding them to the website so if you see some material you would like them made in just send us an email & they can be zipped up & posted to you.
The main reason we have both FunkyMates Nappies available with and without PUL in all sizes is that it gives our customers the choice of which Nappy they wish to use. Some people simply don't like the idea of not having a cover. By having two types of Nappies we are able to give our customers the freedom of choice - something for every little monkey!
We have had requests from some of our customers that are feeding & are a little bit more on the bigger side to make a larger size FunkyMates Breast Pad - this has been done! We will list them shortly on the website, also based on your feedback that we have made up a Night Time FunkyMates Breast Pad for those of you than have leaking issues - the make up of that is - 1 x Flannel Cover, 1 x PUL & 2 pieces of Bamboo Fleece. Yes it is a little bit more bulky but this is aimed to help solve this Night time issue!
What is PUL I hear some of you ask? PUL is an acronym for Polyurethane Laminate fabric, it is a breathable industrial strength fabric is 100% polyester and is a built in waterproof cover.
Something to Keep in Mind: "This PUL fabric is laminated with a waterproof membrane that will deteriorate if exposed to the acidic properties found in vinegar. You will need to take care when washing your FunkyMates AIO Nappies as this may case the fabric to leak. It is also recommended that you use a gentle detergent and line dry to extend the life of coated fabrics". This is a caution from our supplier. The Nappies will also need to be washed a few times to make the PUL work its magic.
Lay-bys are welcome, all you will need to do is contact us after placing an order - we are happy to have them over 8-12 weeks with a small deposit and a small payment each week/fortnight - we can discuss special terms if needed as we certainly understand how tight things can get with babies on the way plus toddlers in toe!
